South West Delhi is one of the eleven administrative districts of the National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi, surrounded by the border of Haryana comprising of Gurgaon on its south and South District of NCT of Delhi on its East. Southwest Delhi is the fourth most populous districts in Delhi.
The administrative headquarters of South West Delhi is Kapashera.

Each of these administrative zones of South West Delhi is made up of a group of villages. There are 88 villages in the South West District of Delhi. It is subdivided into three divisions and each is managed by the Sub Divisional Magistrate or SDM.

Southwest District is a realtively new district, It was one of the nine districts of Delhi which were formed in 1997.
The South West Delhi District has a very well distinguished historical background. It is surrounded by the areas like Delhi Cantt, Pusa, Inderpuri, Mayapuri, Patel Nagar, Ranjitnagar, Satyam Park and Shadipur Depot.
It also includes R. K. Puram which is also known as Ramakrishna Puram, named after Saint Sri Ramakrishna and was constructed during the 1950s when the government acquired land from Munirka farmers.
Airport Connectivity:
South West District hosts India's largest airport, the Delhi International Airport (IGI) and has excellent connectivity of both the International terminal as well as the domestic airport. The road connectivity in and around the Airport is developing fast to accommodate the large volume of people coming from all parts of Delhi NCR.
Railway Connectivity:
The major railway stations - New Delhi and Old Delhi Railway Stations are around half an hour drive from Southwest District. The district also has excellent metro connectivity with both the stations.
Delhi Cantonment railway station is one of the railway stations located in this district which makes it easy for the people to commute to nearby towns and villages.
Metro Connectivity:
Southwest Delhi was one of the key districts where Metro projects were taken up in the first phase. The Blue line extends from Connaught Place to Dwarka which was further connected with the Airport Express Line. The yellow line which connects the Central Delhi to Gurgaon also passes through the district with Chhattarpur and Qutub Minar as the key metro stations in this district.
Some of the major metro stations in South West District are Dwarka Sector 21, International Airport and Chhattarpur. The Delhi metro offers a comfortable way to commute in this district.
Other Connectivity:
People can easily hire Taxis/cabs and auto-rickshaws to arrive at destinations from Vasant Vihar in the Southwest District to nearby places in Delhi.
This district is surrounded by famous Dwarka Sub-city, Sagar Pur, Dhaula Kuan which forms the intersection of roads and flyovers that links to nearby parts of Delhi.
Vasant Vihar is one of the top-notch localities in Delhi. The colony is much sought after due to its proximity with Embassies and VIP addresses impressed connectivity with International Airport, this area is well maintained with greenery where mostly high business class families reside.
Dwarka is one of the largest planned residential areas in Asia, and is getting built with a view to house millions of people in near future. The area has recently been built in last 20-30 years with a good and planned infrastructure, far better that rest of the Delhi.
The Southwest district is one of the most expensive residential areas in Delhi and hosts for some famous shopping malls such as the Emporia and DLF Promenade.
