South East Delhi is a district located in the National Capital Territory of Delhi, India. It is one of the 11 administrative districts of Delhi and covers an area of approximately 102 square kilometres.

It is bounded by the Yamuna River on the east, the Noida city of Uttar Pradesh on the east, the South Delhi District on the west, and the Faridabad District of Haryana on the south.

South East Delhi District is a cosmopolitan area with a mix of residential, commercial, and industrial areas. Some of the popular residential areas in the district include Greater Kailash, East of Kailash, and Defence Colony. The district is well-connected to other parts of Delhi through the metro and bus services. Some of the important landmarks in South East Delhi include the Lotus Temple, the Qutub Minar, Tughlaqabad Fort, and the Indira Gandhi International Airport. 

Administratively, the South East Delhi district is divided into three subdivisions: 

• Kalkaji
• Defence Colony
• Sarita Vihar 

Defence Colony is the administrative headquarters of the district. The Southeast district is headed by District Magistrate (DM), who has under him/her an additional District Magistrate, three Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDM), three tehsildars and One Sub-Registrar.

South East Delhi has a rich and diverse history that dates back to ancient times. It was ruled by various empires and dynasties, including the Mauryas, Guptas, Tomars, and Mughals, and served as an important center of trade and commerce. During the Mughal era, several forts and palaces were built in the region, including the impressive Tughlaqabad Fort.

South East Delhi is well-connected to other parts of Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) through a network of metro lines. Bringing into function the violet line and Magenta lines of Delhi Metro transportation around the city has become stress-free and precipitous.

The Violet line and Magenta line of Delhi Metro facilitate the movement of people from the southeast to other parts of the city.

Railway Connectivity:

There are several railway stations found in the southeast district which include: Tughlaqabad, Okhla, Nizamuddin, Lajpat Nagar and Lodi Colony.

South East Delhi has a well-developed railway connectivity that connects it to other parts of Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR). Some of the major railway stations in the district include:

• Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station: Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station is the largest railway station in South East Delhi and is located in the Nizamuddin East area. It is a major railway junction and is well-connected to other parts of Delhi and the NCR.
• Okhla Railway Station: Okhla Railway Station is located in the Okhla Industrial Area and is an important station for freight trains.
• Tughlakabad Railway Station: Tughlakabad Railway Station is located in the Tughlakabad area and is an important station for goods trains.
• Sarai Kale Khan Railway Station: Sarai Kale Khan Railway Station is located in the Sarai Kale Khan area and is a major railway station for long-distance trains.
• Anand Vihar Terminal: Anand Vihar Terminal is located in the nearby district of East Delhi and is a major railway station that connects South East Delhi to other parts of the country.

Road Connectivity:

South East Delhi has a well-developed road network that connects it to other parts of Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) which include;

• Outer Ring Road: The Outer Ring Road is a major arterial road that passes through South East Delhi and connects it to other parts of Delhi, including North, West, and South Delhi.
• Mathura Road: Mathura Road is another important road in the district that connects South East Delhi to the rest of the city. It runs from south Delhi to Faridabad in Haryana.
• Mehrauli-Badarpur Road: Mehrauli-Badarpur Road is an important road that runs through South East Delhi and connects it to other parts of the city, including South and Central Delhi.
• Agra-Mathura Road: Agra-Mathura Road is a national highway that passes through South East Delhi and connects it to Agra in Uttar Pradesh.
• Delhi-Noida Direct Flyway: The Delhi-Noida Direct Flyway is a tolled expressway that connects South East Delhi to Noida in Uttar Pradesh.

Bus Connectivity:

The Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) operates several bus routes that connect South East Delhi to other parts of the city. Private bus operators also offer bus services in the district.

Auto-rickshaws are a popular mode of transportation in South East Delhi, especially for short distances. They are easily available and relatively affordable.

Taxi Connectivity:
