North West Delhi is one of the 11 administrative districts of the National Capital Territory of Delhi (NCT).

The district enclosed by the districts of North Delhi to the east and North, West Delhi to the south along with Jhajjar District of Haryana to the northwest. The district is home to several residential colonies, including Pitampura, Rohini, Ashok Vihar, Shalimar Bagh, and Model Town, among others

North West Delhi district has a population density of 8,298 residents per square kilometer according to Census 2001, while the population growth rate seen over the past few years was 27.63%. The area was propelled into a  well-developed place with multifarious importance, further partitioned into three sub-divisions which include:

  • Saraswati Vihar
  • Narela
  • Model Town

The most established sub-urban area Rohini is situated in this region with different towns like Bawana,  Alipur, Mundka, Nangloi, Sultanpuri and Mangolpuri. Likewise, Badli Industrial Area is one of the critical areas of the Industrial regions in Delhi. The district is home to a diverse population and has a mix of residential, commercial, and industrial areas.

History Of North West Delhi

North West Delhi is a district with a rich history that dates back to ancient times. It was a part of the legendary city of Indraprastha founded by the Pandavas in the Mahabharata epic and has been ruled by various dynasties, including the Mughals and the British. During the Mughal era, the district was an important center of trade and commerce, with several monuments and gardens built by Emperor Akbar.

The British developed the area into a modern residential and commercial hub in the 1950s, and today it is home to several sub-cities with modern amenities and infrastructure.
