North Bangalore is a sub-city in the northern part of Bangalore. It consists of many important areas like Hebbal which is an Assembly Constituency area and was once indicative of the north endpoint of the city, now known for the serpentine maze of flyovers that network the Outer Ring Road and Bellary Road on NH7, Yelahanka which has a nearest Railway station that connects to Kempegowda Airport, Devanahalli which is known for Kempegowda Airport, etc.

This sub-city shares border with East Bangalore, West Bangalore and Central Bangalore sub-cities. It also possesses various IT Parks, reputed companies and commercial spaces. 

Sub-city of North Bangalore stretches from Peenya to Chikkajala till Udayanagar. It includes areas like Devanahalli, Hebbal, Agrahara, Nelamangala, Bagaluru, Mylanahalli, Sahakar Nagar, Southe Gowdanahalli, Krishnarajapura, Ramanahalli, Yelahanka, Anagalapura, etc.

The area is well connected by BMTC buses. Major commercial hubs for businesses and many commercial shops lie in this area. NH 44 and newly constructed Navayuga Devanahalli KIAL Expressway (Part of NH 44) passes through Yelahanka which is going to be a prime real estate hub in North Bengaluru because of its vast undeveloped areas and an easy access to the Kempegowda International Airport.

During the early 1980s, a well-planned township was developed to the north of the city by the Karnataka Housing Board and is known by several names like 'Yelahanka Upanagara', 'Yelahanka Satellite Town', 'Yelahanka New Town' or simply 'Housing Board'.

NH 44 and newly constructed Navayuga Devanhalli KIAL Expressway (Part of NH 44) passes through Yelahanka in North Bangalore. State Highway 9 (Bangalore - Hindupur) passing in the south of Yelahanka divides the suburb into Old Town and New Town.

There is a network of roads and a six-lane dual carriageway highway which connects Yelahanka with downtown Bangalore and also to Kempegowda International Airport.

BMTC Volvo A/C Bus services and other buses run regularly from Yelahanka to Bangalore.

Railway Connectivity:

Yelahanka Jn. (code YNK) lies on the train line connecting Banglore with North, West, and Central India via Guntakal Junction.

Metro Connectivity:

The newly constructed green line Namma metro passes through Yeshwanthpur allows the connectivity to all the extension of the city

Defence Airport

• An Indian Air Force Station has a presence in North Bangalore, Yelahanka and a defence airport situated on NH7. An international air show is held every two years which attracts manufacturers and sellers of defence equipment, defence aircraft, and next gen fighters.
