North Bangalore is a sub-city in the northern part of Bangalore. It consists of many important areas like Hebbal which is an Assembly Constituency area and was once indicative of the north endpoint of the city, now known for the serpentine maze of flyovers that network the Outer Ring Road and Bellary Road on NH7, Yelahanka which has a nearest Railway station that connects to Kempegowda Airport, Devanahalli which is known for Kempegowda Airport, etc.

This sub-city shares border with East Bangalore, West Bangalore and Central Bangalore sub-cities. It also possesses various IT Parks, reputed companies and commercial spaces.

History Of North Bangalore

During the early 1980s, a well-planned township was developed to the north of the city by the Karnataka Housing Board and is known by several names like 'Yelahanka Upanagara', 'Yelahanka Satellite Town', 'Yelahanka New Town' or simply 'Housing Board'.

There is a network of roads and a six-lane dual carriageway highway which connects Yelahanka with downtown Bangalore and also to Kempegowda International Airport.

BMTC Volvo A/C Bus services and other buses run regularly from Yelahanka to Bangalore.

Yelahanka Jn. (code YNK) lies on the train line connecting Banglore with North, West, and Central India via Guntakal Junction.

The newly constructed green line Namma metro passes through Yeshwanthpur allows the connectivity to all the extension of the city
