The Western Suburbs is one of the 3 sub-cities of the city of Mumbai. It include areas like Andheri, Borivali, Dahisar, Dharavi, Goregaon, Jogeshwari, Juhu, Kandivali, Khar, Malad, etc.

There is a significant development in terms of infrastructure and real estate, leading to an increase in the standard of living for its residents. Geographically, the Western Suburbs lie at the western part of Salsette Island.  With extension up to Borivali in the planning stage, a branch of the Harbour line terminates at Goregaon and Line 1 of the Mumbai Metro also covers the entire suburb of Andheri.

Mumbai Western Suburbs span the area from Borivali to Bandra.

It includes areas like Kandivali, Malad, Goregaon, Andheri, Bandra Fort, Naupada, Varsova,Khar, Dahisar, Vile Parle, Kherwadi, Mira Road, etc. It shares boundaries with Juhu beach and Varsova Beach.

The oldest suburbs of the city are the Western Suburbs. With the arrival of the Portuguese in the 16th century, the area became a hub for trade and commerce. During the British Raj, the western suburbs underwent significant development with the construction of the Bandra-Worli Sea Link, the Mahim Causeway, and the Western Railway line.

After India's independence, the western suburbs continued to witness rapid development, with the construction of residential and commercial complexes and the establishment of various educational institutions and healthcare facilities.

Some of the major railway stations in the western suburbs include Andheri, Bandra, Borivali, Goregaon, Jogeshwari, Kandivali, Malad, and Santa Cruz.

Road Connectivity:

The Link Road and SV Road are parallel roads that run through the western suburbs, connecting several neighborhoods and commercial areas.

The western suburbs also have several options for public transportation, including buses, taxis, and auto-rickshaws, which are widely used by commuters to travel within the region.

The Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) provides bus services in the Western Suburbs of Mumbai. The bus services for the Western Suburbs are categorized into "200" and "300" series.

Metro Connectivity:

Mumbai Metro Line 1 runs through the western suburbs, providing another convenient mode of transportation for commuters.
