The Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB) is a statutory authority established under Section 5 of the Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Act (KIAD Act) of 1966 through Order No. Cl 67 GMI 66 dated June 20, 1966. Its primary objective is to facilitate the rapid and systematic development of industries by providing industrial infrastructure and other necessary amenities within designated industrial areas in Karnataka. The KIAD Act of 1966, a special legislation, enables the efficient acquisition of land for industrial and infrastructure purposes.
KIADB operates in accordance with the statutory provisions, rules, and regulations outlined in the KIAD Act. The Board consists of senior government officials serving in an ex-officio capacity. Regular meetings are held to make decisions and oversee the Board's operations.
