Major Plan with Years

1)First Master Plan (1962-1981)

It was the first step towards modern planning in India which ensured poised development of Delhi by building new residential extension areas that resulted in self-reliance with a healthy and secure environment.

2)Second Master Plan (1981-2001)

Based on the experience of the plan and to cater to the increasing population & changing requirements of the city up to the year 2001, extensive modifications to MPD-1962 were made under Section 11-A of the DD Act and the Master Plan for Delhi - 2001 was prepared by inhouse professionals of DDA.

3)Third Master Plan (2001-present)

From a quantitative perspective, the DDA did transform during the last decade of the second master plan, moving towards an increasingly private model of development. The Master Plan 2021reflects many of these shifts, introducing a new emphasis on public-private partnerships (PPPs)as a development tool.
