About Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA)

Founded Year : 1977

Before the HUDA was established, urban development in the state was overseen by the Urban Estates Department (U.E.D.), which was established in 1962. With so many parties involved, miscommunication inevitably led to disagreements about which buildings should be constructed and by whom. The Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) was created on January 13th, 1977, by the Haryana Urban Development Authority Act. The new name for the Authority is "Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP)," which is the literal translation of the previous name into Hindi.

With the primary goal of carrying out the proper and effective development of urban areas, it was established as a statutory body of the Haryana government. The authority is headed by Haryana's Minister of Town and Country Planning. Panchkula, Haryana is home to the authority's administrative hub.

Major Roles of HUDA

To promote and secure the development of urban areas in a systematic and planned way with the power to acquire sell and dispose of property, both movable and immovable.
HUDA is responsible for developing the urban areas of Haryana under the following land-use: for residential, industrial, recreational and commercial purposes.
To make available developed land to the Haryana Housing Board and other bodies for providing houses to economically weaker sections of the society, and
To undertake building works.

The authority has divided the districts of Haryana into four divisions which include:

· Faridabad Zone

· Hisar Zone

· Panchkula Zone

· Rohtak Zone

· Except Gurugram Zone

There are a total of 12 wings under the body that assist in doing the development work which includes: IT, land acquisition, policy, establishment & authority, vigilance, enforcement, monitoring, legal, architecture, town planning, finance and engineering.

The authority is responsible for the development and maintenance of Residential areas, Industrial areas, Commercial areas and Institutional areas while the community buildings developed by HUDA include Schools, Community centers, Colleges, Gymkhana Clubs, Hospitals, and Old age Homes, Police stations, Fire stations, etc.

The green push has made a sharp rise in construction activities in the state which sucks up all the groundwater, HUDA is coming up with initiatives like using treated sewage water in public parks.

The Urban and Country Planning Department of Haryana has released the Gurgaon Manesar Master Plan 2031, the most recent master plan for the city. On November 15, 2012, the city of Gurgaon unveiled its Master Plan 2031, which is intended for a population of 42.5 lacs.

The Sohna Master Plan 2031 provides a vision and regulations for development and building in Haryana's Sohna. By 2031, Sohna will have 6.4 lakh people. According to the Sohna master plan, 5600 hectares of land will be urbanized by 2031.

The Haryana industrial town of Faridabad's Master Plan 2031 regulates development and building. By 2031, the Faridabad master plan provides 34,368 hectares of land for a population of 38.86 lakhs.

Dharuhera is a town located just 19 km from Rewari city in the Rewari district of the state of Haryana, India. Dharuhera Master Plan 2031 has been prepared to provide regulations for development and building.
