Bengaluru: As the Bengaluru- Mysuru Expressway is getting ready for inauguration, the Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari on Monday shared some scenic visuals of the 10-lance access-controlled expressway.

The Rs 9000 crore project will be finished and ready for inauguration by the end of February and Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to throw it open for the public.

Once operational, the expressway is expected to cut down the travel time between the two most important cities of Karnataka from 3 hours to less than 90 minutes.

The highway will be a six-lane stretch, along with two-lane service roads on either side of the expressway, making it a 10-lane corridor.

This will be an access-controlled highway and bikes, scooters, auto rickshaws and slow-moving vehicles will not be allowed.

The 117 km corridor is divided into two carriages, one is Bangalore to Nidagatta and another one is Nidagatta to Mysore.

On Monday, marking the completion of all the greenfield sections of the expressway, the authorities announce the completion of the construction of a seven-km-long stretch of Srirangapatna bypass.

Earlier this month, Gadkari inspected the expressway and reviewed the progress and announced that it will be open for commuters in February 2023.

After the inspection, the minister said, "you will remember me if you take the Mysuru-Bengaluru expressway.”

These pictures clicked by a photographer who identifies himself on social media as 'Droneman' has gone viral on the internet.

In the past few days, Gadkari shared several visuals of the highway, which is a component of the Greenfield Corridors project.
