Gurugram: In June, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to officially inaugurate the Gurugram section of the Dwarka Expressway. The Dwarka Expressway is being built from near the Kherki Daula toll plaza in Gurugram to Shivmurti in Mahipalpur.

However, the project's start date has yet to be determined. Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways will visit the expressway before it opens. The Dwarka Expressway is Prime Minister's dream project. As a result, a plan has been devised to have him open the Gurugram section of the expressway. Authorities want to finish the whole cloverleaf flyover at the Kherki Daula toll plaza on the Delhi-Jaipur Motorway, as well as the Gurugram segment of the Dwarka Expressway, by May 15.

The Dwarka Expressway is being built from near the Kherki Daula toll plaza in Gurugram to Shivmurti in Mahipalpur, Delhi. This expressway, worth Rs 9,000 crore, spans 18.9 kilometres in Gurugram and 10.1 km in Delhi.

A total of 23 km are elevated, with around 4 kilometres under construction. The Dwarka Motorway to Palam Airport tunnel is being built at a length of 3.6 km. In addition to the flyover, an underpass will be built to connect the Delhi-Gurugram Motorway to the Dwarka Motorway in Mahipalpur.

According to authorities, senior district administration officials would visit the Dwarka Motorway this week, along with officials from the National Highway Authority of India (NAHI).

The Northern Peripheral Road or NH 248-BB, commonly called Dwarka Expressway starts from Shiv-Murti on NH-8 (Delhi-Gurugram expressway) and ends near Kherki Daula Toll Plaza, through Dwarka Sector 21, Gurugram border, and Basai. It is expected to ease the traffic situation on the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway and other arterial roads.
