Hyderabad: This year's first infra project, the Kothaguda multi-level flyover at Botanical Garden Junction, was inaugurated by Telangana State Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development KT Rama Rao on Sunday.

The multi-level flyover with five lanes from the SLN Terminus up to Botanical Junction, six lanes from Botanical Junction up to Kothaguda Junction and three lanes from Kothaguda Junction up to Kondapur RTO Office will significantly reduce the traffic at Botanical Gardens and Kothaguda junctions.
Traffic from Masjid Banda road to Botanical Garden Junction will be facilitated through a two-lane ramp to the flyover at Botanical Garden and a three-lane ramp towards Hitec City will facilitate traffic from Kothaguda Junction towards Hitec City.

At an estimated cost of Rs 263.09 crores, the flyover was constructed under the Strategic Road Development Plan (SRDP). According to minister KRT, 11 more SRDP projects will be completed in 2023. So far, around Rs 8000 crore were spent on SRDP projects by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC).

"Minister KR Rama Rao hits the ground running in the new year 2023. Inaugurates Kothaguda Flyover today that solves traffic woes at Botanical Gardens and Kothaguda junctions. The flyover links Financial Dist. & HITEC City with neighbourhood Miyapur and other locations," the Minister's office tweeted.

Ahead of the inauguration, sharing pictures of the new flyover, minister KTR said, "Calendar dates might change but our Government’s commitment to improving Hyderabad road infrastructure under SRDP remains steadfast".

The Kothaguda Flyover is the 34th project to be completed under the SRDP scheme.

Recently, the minister opened the massive four-lane bidirectional flyover at Shilpa Layout that connects Shilpa Layout to the Outer Ring Road (ORR) near Gachibowli and has a total length of 2.81 km. This flyover eased the traffic at the Gachibowli junction and provides better connectivity to Hi-tech City, Hyderabad Knowledge Centre (HKC) and the Financial District.
