L&T Receives LoA for Package CA-298 of Mumbai Metro Line 4 & 4A

MUMBAI (Metro Rail News): Larsen & Toubro Limited has received a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) from Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) for the Package CA-298 which is a electrification contract of Mumbai Metro Line 4 & Line 4A which spans 35.2 km connecting Wadala- Kasarvadavali – Gaimukh.

MMRDA invited bids for this contract with a 2556 Days deadline. Technical bids were opened on 24 Oct 2025 revealing that 3 firms have submitted bids for the contract. The technical evaluation of the submitted bids took place on 14 Nov 2025. During the technical evaluation round one firm’s bid was rejected. Financial bids were opened on the same day and financial evaluation of  the bids occurred on 21 Jan 2026. After that MMRDA announced Larsen & Toubro as the lowest bidder for the contract and the firm received LoA for the same.


Contract’s Scope of Work: Design, Manufacture, Supply, Installation, Integration, Testing and Commissioning of Power Supply and Traction, Electrical & Mechanical and Lifts & Escalators Including 5 Years of Comprehensive Maintenance After 2 Years of Defect Liability Maintenance Period for Mumbai Metro Line-4 and Extension Corridor -4A of Mumbai Metro Rail Project of MMRDA.”

This is the third contract which L&T has secured for Line-4&4A of Mumbai Metro. Earlier, L&T had recieved LoA for Package CA-234 and Package CA-168 of Mumbai Metro. 

Package CA-234 Scope of Work: Design, Manufacture, Supply, Installation, Integration, Testing and Commissioning of Rolling Stock, Communication Based Signaling & Train Control, Telecommunication, Platform Screen Doors Systems, and Depot Machinery & Plant including 15 Years of Comprehensive Maintenance After 2 Years of Defect Liability Maintenance Period of Line 4 and Extension Corridor (4A) [Wadala – Kasarvadavali – Gaimukh] of Mumbai Metro Rail Project of MMRDA.

Package CA-168 Scope of Work: Design, Construction, Manufacturing, Supply, Installation, Testing and Commissioning of Ballastless Trackwork in Mainline from Bhakti Park [Ch. -550.0m] to Mulund Fire Station (Excluding station)(Excluding station) [Ch. 18929.611 m] including Siding Tracks at POB of Bhakti Park Station and Pocket Track between Sonapur&Mulund Fire Station (Excluding station)of Metro Line – 4 Corridor [Wadala – Kasarvadavali] of Mumbai Metro Rail Project of MMRDA, Mumbai.
