Hundreds of disgruntled homebuyers launched a protest against builders at the Tanvi Eminence building in Mumbai’s Kashimira area.
The homebuyers complained that the builders in question have been unable to deliver them the apartments that were promised to them.
Meanwhile, the builders issued a statement saying that the delay was due to an internal builder’s conflict.
Earlier this month, the Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (MahaRERA) asked a builder in Mumbai to return an advance of Rs 26.15 lakh to a buyer, the first such order since the real estate law came into effect in the state on May 1.
In a similar incident, over 4000 homebuyers approached Maharashtra RERA over a complaint regarding an upcoming project in Panvel. A token amount for the project in question, Commander’s Gateway, was reportedly handed over to the builder Laxmi Enterprises in 2012 by close to 50 families. The families had claimed that despite several assurances by the developer, the construction at the site has not begun even in 2017.
