Greater Noida: There is renewed hope for farmers in the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) area. Farmers, whose lands were acquired years ago for the JP Infratech Project, will finally receive long-pending additional compensation.

After JP Infratech, the takeover was completed by Suraksha Realty. In a significant move, the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) had ordered YEIDA to pay Rs 1334 crore for the distribution of 64.7% additional compensation.

YEIDA had already sent its approval to the government to give Rs 300 crore as compensation to the farmers. Upon revaluation, this amount has now come down to Rs 20 to 25 crore. This has significantly reduced the financial burden on the Yamuna authority as well. The matter now awaits the final approval of the government. After agreement, this amount will be distributed directly to the affected farmers.

Who Will Benefit?

The farmers coming under the JP Infratech project extend from Gautam Buddha Nagar to Agra. So far, 4,171 farmers have been allotted residential plots by the authority. Besides this, the Smart Village project is also underway in a phased manner in 29 villages in the YEIDA area. By December 2026, all the villages are said to be equipped with smart facilities.
