The inauguration of Ashram flover extension was likely on Tuesday, February 28, but the event has been delayed. New date of inauguration is yet to be finalised.

New Delhi: The inauguration of the Ashram flyover extension has been postponed and commuters to Noida will have to wait a little longer for any likelty relief in traffic movement. The inauguration of the extension was likely to take place on Tuesday, February 28, the Public Works Department (PWD) officials had said .

"We have not yet decided on a fresh date for the inauguration, but for now, it has been postponed," an official said.

Being built at an estimated cost of Rs 128 crore, this six-lane flyover will provide a signal-free route from Delhi to Noida providing a much-needed relief to the commuters passing from the busy Ashram intersection.

By the end of January, PWD started construction work on the flyover and it was expected to be wrapped up in nearly 45 days. The flyover was supposed to be inaugurated by chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday in presence of his deputy Manish Sisodia and other dignataries.

The PWD officials had earlier said that work on the flyover extension would continue even after the inauguration of the stretch.
