Navi Mumbai: The Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) became operational two days ago, giving Ahmedabad an additional air connectivity boost, with IndiGo and Star Air launching flight services between NMIA and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport. Now, a third airline, Akasa Air, is also set to launch flight services on the Navi Mumbai–Ahmedabad route.
The airline has scheduled a one-way weekly service from NMIA to Ahmedabad starting December 31. According to the airline, the service will initially operate every Wednesday, with fares starting at around ₹3,000 for a one-way ticket.
As per Akasa Air’s website, Flight QP 1916 will depart from NMIA at 17:40 and arrive at SVPI Airport at 18:50, with a flight duration of approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes.
Apart from Ahmedabad, Akasa Air will also operate flights from NMIA to Delhi, Goa, and Kochi. The airline said it will progressively scale up its operations from the new airport.
“Akasa Air will progressively ramp up operations from NMIA, scaling up to 300 domestic and 50 international weekly departures. As part of its broader network strategy, the airline is also set to ramp up to 10 parking bases by the end of FY2027, with a focused international expansion into key Middle Eastern and Southeast Asian markets,” the airline said in a statement.
