The Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) is a local governing body that is responsible for the administration and development of the twin cities of Kalyan and Dombivli in the state of Maharashtra, India.

The KDMC was formed in 1982 and has since been responsible for providing essential services such as water supply, sanitation, solid waste management, and public health to the residents of the Kalyan-Dombivli region. 

The KDMC  is divided into several administrative zones, and each zone is headed by a municipal commissioner who is appointed by the state government and is responsible for the overall functioning of the corporation. The commissioner is assisted by a team of officials who are responsible for various departments such as engineering, health, public works, and finance. The Municipal corporation has also set up various committees such as the standing committee, the education committee, and the health committee, to ensure the efficient functioning of various departments.

The KDMC has undertaken several development projects in recent years to improve the standard of living for the residents of Kalyan-Dombivli. These include the construction of new roads, bridges, and flyovers, the development of parks and gardens, and the installation of streetlights and CCTV cameras for improved safety and security. For greater efficiency, Kalyan Dombivli MC initiated an E-Governance project for the complete computerization of the activities of the MC in December 1999 with the following objectives: 

•  Utilize information technology for their various departmental functions
•  Improve efficiency and avoid repetition 
•  Utilise Computerised systems for providing services to the citizens

KDMC has launched a project to improve waste management in the region. The project includes setting up new waste treatment plants, increasing waste segregation, and promoting recycling.

Affordable Housing Project (2017-2023):

KDMC has launched an affordable housing project for low-income families. The project includes the construction of new housing complexes, upgrading existing housing, and providing financial assistance to families.

Road and Transport Infrastructure Development Project (2018-2024):

E-Governance Initiative:

Traffic Management Project:

The KDMC has taken up a project to improve traffic management in the city. This project involves construction of new flyovers, widening of roads, and installation of traffic signals at important junctions.

Kalyan City:

Kalyan is a city located in the eastern part of the Thane district. It covers an area of approximately 28.5 square kilometers (11 square miles) and has a population of around 1.2 million.

Dombivli City:

Dombivli is a suburb of Mumbai located in the western part of the Thane district. It covers an area of approximately 28.5 square kilometers (11 square miles) and has a population of around 1.2 million. In addition to Kalyan and Dombivli cities, the KDMC also covers several surrounding areas, including Nilje Gaon, Mohane, Katemanavli, Kolegaon, and Manpada.

• Line 1: Kalyan to Dombivli, Blue Line
• Line 2: Kalyan to Ambernath, Yellow Line
• Line 3: Dombivli to Thakurli,Aqua Line
• Line 4: Dombivli to Kalyan (via Manpada),Green Line
• Line 5: Dombivli to Nilje Gaon (via MIDC), Orange Linę

 Till now, there is no operational metro system in KDMC. However, there are plans for the construction of metro lines in the area.
